Subject: Websites: neuronwalker.li (and neuronwalker.com)

Hi, Virginia.

I hope you are feeling better.

To make it less visible, I moved the proposed website pages to:
    http://neuronwalker.li/new/
Just click on "home.html" to see the home page,
or click on the other files to see them directly.
(They are also available via links from the home page,
but this allows you to look at any page directly, for now.
On the final website, these pages will be accessible
only via links from the home page.)

Below, I have pasted my copy of your email, with notes.
An "=" sign on the left indicates something that was completed.
My comments are preceded by "+++".

By the way, I did NOT change any of the text of the poems,
but merely pasted in the text that you sent me. unfortunately,
the text you sent contained many proprietary characters
(perhaps from Microsoft products) which are non-portable.
Therefore, some of the special characters in your text
(such as non-standard quotation marks, apostrophes, etc.)
did not survive translation to standard-conforming codes
that are used on the web).

Anyhow, I tracked down the ones you cited and changed them manually.
If you find any others, please let me know.

Also, the underlining was due to the fact that the titles
were also used as "links" (hyperlinks in HTML) that can be
clicked on, to go to another page. Links are underlined,
by default, but I modified the CSS code to suppress this
feature and now your links are not underlined. (Let me
konw if there are any other links for which you want to
retain the standard underlining.)

. . .

Dear Bruce: My sister just left for California, so I can get back to everything. I did make it through my first week of teaching, too.   On Home Page: = I like the soft blue  suede background. On Coming Soon: =I like the light purple behind Neuron Mirror and = the grayish cloudy bkg is ok behind the deep purple box with intro quote. Selected Poems: Box is too busy. Bkg of golden silk is ok, but multiple bkgs are not ok. = Get rid of the bricks especially and difficult to read letters. ?? Make all titles the same. = Do not underline. ++ Underline is default for hyperlinks, but I can suppress it. ++ On "Advantage": Bkg under poem should be a little lighter color and print darker (on all poems). =~ Only right hand egret needed. = The copyright notice is good. Here multiple colors are ok. Email link is good. NOTE: We will need a contact page and an order page for the book. Until I have the book and can weigh it, I cannot figure postage. Book will be $20. NOTE: Many times you replace apostrophes with commas! ++ This was PASTED; nothing was changed. ++ Probably due to nonstandard codes (probably MS). On "Eating Lemon Bread": = on line two: years'   no period ++??? = line six: neuron's path = line thirteen: heils should be underlined: heils = line fifteen: soldiers' fists = line seventeen: sister's = line twenty-two: child's On "Rings":  ?= all too busy-- ??? Is it OK, now ??? = terrible pink background--get rid off. = Pale blue suede is ok and poem on light cream. = Title could be in darker beige box. = line seven: grit--sharp      a long M dash between the words. = Sec. III, line one: Tiffany's = lone thirteen, Two thousand eleven--     another long M dash follows eleven, no period. = Sec IV, Tiffany's = line three "Nearly...........too"   this is A QUOTE  no period = lone four  "you..........gardening!"    Another QUOTE == On "A Man Who Writes": NOTE: I am attaching the poem since you left off nearly twelve lines! == I like the color combination but the print could be darker and the bkg lighter/     poems from Neuron Mirror: = Silk bkg is ok. = Ditch the bricks and pictures. = “Waiting for the Butterfly": Bkg is ok = “A Madonna for Our Time ": you left off A in title. bkg is ok   = “Reading the Silk Road":  line four, extra space before question mark. Note: Try not to highlight titles with other colors.   == Do not like the wood bkg on Events page ==REMOVED = Bkg under Events not too bad = Publication page OK bkg = About page OK colors and bkg---even lines. Can you put the names of publications in italics?   == Little odd signs, such as little house, for home page. look very corny. On book copy: = neurons of empathy   You wrote empathya! = Also in list of poems in anthologies: You wrote A Madonna for Our Timea,! rather than Time. = and you also wrote As It Rests Contenta!, rather than Content   = On images: ditch snow = /back01jpgJPEG   is OK = bkg: /back21 gifGIF   is good = /soulbackgifGIF     is good = /speckle1 jpgJPEG    os good = Attached, please find  A Man Who Writes. == I will try to send you the cover art for Neuron Mirror.   Besr, Virginia
