An awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2-4 PM
at the Onyx Theater, 931 Montauk Highway, Oakdale, L.I., N.Y.

- PUBLICATION:

First Place Poem will be published on the Lustgarten Foundation website
First, Second, and Third Place Poems will be published on the NeuronWalker website.
Other publication may be possible.
RULES:
- Only one poem entry per person,
accompanied by a check or money order
in the amount of $20.00
made out to The Lustgarten Foundation.
- Poem must be on the following theme:
EMPATHY
- Poem may be in any format
- Up to 100 lines, in type copy.
- Participants must be over 18 years of age.
- Poems will be judged by the following award-winning poets:
- George Held
- 10-time Pushcart Prize nominee,
author of many books, including "CULLING"
- Mindy Kronenberg
- poems in hundreds of publications,
editor of Bookmark Quarterly Review
- Carole Stone
- seven chapbooks and a book of poetry,
associate editor of Tiferet: a journal of spiritual literature.

NOTE:
The first 100 poets to submit a poem will receive a copy of "Neuron Mirror",
by Virginia Walker and Michael Walsh.
(This book of poetry is dedicated to the memory of four poets who died of pancreatic cancer. The book has raised over $9,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation toward our goal of over $10,000.)
Although the Onyx Theater is very small, participants are encouraged to attend the awards ceremony at which the winners will receive a certificate and will read their poems. When the awards are announced, those participants who wish to attend will have to reserve in advance. Time permitting, participants will be invited to read, too.
